And your application will show your achievements. They would only toss an application if they had a minimum required GPA (for instance, UC requires at least 3.0, so if someone had 2.1 they are automatically disqualified). If you want to go to Harvard, then go ahead and apply, but apply to other (non-Ivy) schools also, because even as a valedictorian your chances are slim. They look at every application. And your application will show your achievements. They would only toss an application if they had a minimum required GPA (for instance, UC requires at least 3.0, so if someone had 2.1 they are automatically disqualified).

A 3.7 is val at your school and isn't even top 20% at many so context matters. Harvard takes a close read of all applications.
