They should have an estimate amount on their websites... But usually total cost is over 50,000. With room and board, food, books, etc. I think tuition is like, 30,000 to 40,000 but don't quote me on that. Whether or not you save money from the AP Psych exam (assuming you PASS or get a 4 or 5 of course), depends on the school's policy. Some don't even accept AP scores for college credit.

These are private colleges, not public institutions. They're run differently. I know at Harvard, you don't pay by the course. You pay for the year, residency, and meals, all in one package. You don't even have to choose all your classes until school begins, and you can shop/attend elective classes that interest you for a couple of weeks until you commit to them. I believe Stanford's similar, don't know about Duke.

The cost breakdown from the College Board may help you:

Harvard:
http://collegesearch.collegeboard.com/search/CollegeDetail.jsp?collegeId=1251&profileId=2
The school doesn't have a per credit hour charge for classes. The required number of courses to earn a degree from Harvard is a rather complicated set of requirements. I'll let you read about that and figure it out from the info here:
http://www.college.harvard.edu/icb/icb.do?keyword=k61161&pageid=icb.page284442

Stanford:
http://collegesearch.collegeboard.com/search/CollegeDetail.jsp?collegeId=3387&profileId=2
It doesn't look like Stanford has a per credit hour charge for classes, either. I haven't found anything on the Stanford web pages stating how many credits one needs or how many courses one has to have completed to graduate. I recommend you telephone the Stanford Registrar's Office, talk with a real person, tell him/her about your project and ask about the number of credits/courses needed to graduate. The Stanford Registrar's Office is part of Student Services:
Mon-Fri 8am-5pm (Pacific Time)
Phone: 650-723-7772 or 866-993-7772 (toll-free)

Duke:
http://collegesearch.collegeboard.com/search/CollegeDetail.jsp?collegeId=535&profileId=2
This web page does give a per credit hour cost. You will need to find out how many credits are required for graduation.
