What looks better on a college application, debate team or speech team?
Ok, so before I decide what to do, I need to know what looks better on a college application. I like both equally! It’s extremely hard to decide, so I’m asking you: What would look better? To know where I’m thinking of applying, here’s some I’m thinking about:

MIT
CalTech
Princeton
Yale
Harvard
Stanford
University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana (Safety)

I am interested in this program in which i will go to a University outside the us. the school has an amazing program for my major and minor and is a good school.. I want to go to a top university for graduate school, Stanford, Harvard, Berkley, etc… do you think, if i go along this program, this will give me a leg up in the application process.

I receive tons of college mail and I am well aware that its is nothing more than mere publicity, but I was quite surprised to receive an actual application packet for Harvard during June. It also came with two letters which basically said that my current economic situation no longer required my parents to pay for my education (my mom is a single parent with 3 kids and makes less than 60,000 annually). So I was just wondering, does Harvard do this to anyone and everyone? Most of my friend who’ve got better GPA’s than myself, have not received this, so it made me curious. Im a senior and got a 2100 on the last SAT, but i still don’t think its Harvard material…what are your thoughts? Should I apply?
I’m retaking the SAT and actually going to prepare for it this time, and my family has gone through a lot of hardships I’d be the first one going off to college, my counselor believes I should do it and write a really moving college essay. I moved here from Mexico City freshman year, so I’m still getting the hang of how the whole college deal works. thanks for your feedback (:
