I’m really focused on trying to get into a college such as Harvard or Stanford. I have most of the characteristics that they would expect from their candidates. However, I kind of screwed up junior year and took too many AP classes and got a couple of Bs (apush). What would be the best way to convey that in a college app? Should I mention it in my essays or hope that they don’t think much about it?

I’m not the strongest academically from my school (avg gpa is 4.0+) cause I have focused a majority of my time in speech and debate, although with great success. Will that hinder the process?

Also I’m not sure how the interview process works. A background as to what they might ask, what they look for, etc will be extremely helpful. I’m not too worried about the interview though, cause I am in speech and debate and this is probably one of my strongest areas. Will a great interview and good recs minimize the effects of a couple of bad grades on the transcript? I still have a 4.2+ gpa…
ok…so I might have been wrong about the 4.0…its an Asian school, the average is prob 3.8 or so (It’s a normal 4.0 scale).

I’m pretty involved in debate - I’m captain, vp, placed 3rd at CA states, won some invitationals, etc. I’m also involved in other clubs and have a leadership position in them.

I’m not naive…I know that Bs greatly hurt my chance to ivy leagues, that’s why I asked. I was just hoping to find out whether a extremely good SAT/ACT score (2300+), SAT II (800, 800, 780), good recs, and a great interview would help them reconisder.

Hello everyone. I have been spending some time browsing universities that have interested me recently, and i have come upon a curious, although perhaps a dumb question. I have discovered that tuition for Harvard University is ,828. I would like to make sure I have the definition of Tuition correct. If i understand correctly, I will be paying ,828 yearly?

He knew that Hateful People would say exactly what hateful Y/A People say day after day, so he left it off the application.
He studied his but off and to earn scholarships and took out school loans to get into Harvard.
